ElevateU – The Digital Learning Catastrophe Nobody Was Prepared For

It doesn’t need to be said that technology has been improving with time. The first generational computers had to deliver extremely advanced sophisticated models, but those “advanced models” today could be written by a three-year-old. It should be noted that the call for digital migration that has been going on worldwide, has been geared to inform people on what the digital world has to offer. In truth, digital migration is a movement aimed at solving most human challenges and problems. As such, digitization has been a great influencer of the 21st- century human lifestyle, with technology revolving around every aspect of our lives.

Learning has been one of the key areas which received immerse transformation from the traditional system of constrained physical classrooms, to that of digital resources and online education. This learning transformation has proved the capacity of technology in completely shifting physical institutions from the ground to the cloud with unimaginable advancements and benefits. Digital learning has increased convenience associated with online learning from accessibility to comfort and decreased cost of delivery… or at least that is we should have been saying ten years ago.

Before the Coronavirus became a key component of every college lecture, digital learning was not considered an option by many. This is due to the availability of physical learning institutions and the lack of knowledge and understanding on what digital learning can truly hold. Nonetheless, after schools and other institutions were closed down, enabling students and staff to social distance and avoid transmission, digital learning has been the only option available for learning. It has now become a dire need of educational institutions to implement valuable online educational resources and it took a horrible pandemic to realize it. If the education industry was up to date on tech, the learning opportunity, mental health, and social well being of our students could have been far less damaging.

A lot of school institutions are now battling with the results of being unprepared in digital learning. Digital learning is the only option that these institutions can ensure their students continue learning. The cost of setting up to those who had no avenue for online learning is in often cases, unaffordable… they simply were not prepared. Colleges have adopted platforms like Zoom, who are also way behind on times. A quick google search shows countless Zoom scandals. Students’ data gets leaked, trolls are entering classrooms and shutting the entire class down (zoom bombing), and colleges are being opened up to potential lawsuits. Zoom was not made for the class, it was made for the office. Fortunately, there are platforms like ElevateU who are stepping up and trying to solve this much needed problem. ElevateU is an artificial intelligence (AI) digital textbook publisher, and “all-in-one” education platform. They include everything except textbooks for free… and their platform was actually made for digital classrooms, not for board meetings.

Final Thoughts

The need for digital learning, online classrooms, and digital textbook publishers is no longer an option, but rather, a must. Digital learning has proven to be the only avenue for the continuity of education, as COVID-19 has proven the catastrophe that most people were not ready for. All being said, the educational ecosystem has now proven to itself that they can excel away from a dusty physical classroom. Staff and students who have access to these online learning platforms, like ElevateU, are still progressing with education as usual, right at the click of a button… all from the safe, comfort of their homes. If digital learning was not one of your priorities in 2019, it definitely should be at the top of your list now. EdTech is no longer a “trend” and it is no longer a “movement”. Education Technology is the new face of learning.
